"I should be writing symphonies, not tagging along after some headstrong teenager” said Sebastian, the beloved crab and one of the main characters of 1989 film “The Little Mermaid”. Here we can see a full figure of the fun character that accompanies Ariel during most part of the plot. The crab is rendered on blue colored pencil and the artwork is numbered 13 on the lower right side.

Released in 1989 and based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, this film with unforgettable characters, a charming storyline and a captivating musical score, became a pivotal moment in the history of animation and a renaissance for Disney’s animated features.

Beyond its cultural impact, “The Little Mermaid” marked a significant technological advancement for Disney animation.
