"The Klondike Kid" is a Mickey Mouse short film directed by Wilfred Jackson and distributed by United Artists. Released on November 18th 1932 to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s fourth birthday, this feature is considered, on a chronological basis, the first time Mickey meets Minnie.

In the film, Mickey Mouse entertains guests in a winter shelter saloon located in the Klondike region of Canada. There arrives poor orphan Minnie Mouse and finds the comfort and care provided by our hero Mickey. But the villain Pete kidnaps Minnie, and Mickey will try his best to set her free. In this short film we can also see Pluto and Goofy making a cameo, and recognize the voice of Walt Disney himself playing the role of Mickey Mouse.

"The Klondike Kid" was the last Mickey Mouse film to be recorded with Phonofilm, a movie innovation technique first introduced on legendary Steamboat Willie that permitted the use of sound inscribed in the same film as photography. A piece of both Disney, Animation and Film history you should not miss!
