In this beautiful animation drawing, Bambi chews on pieces of bark, searching for the few nutrients he can find during his first winter. To bring the young deer to life, Disney artists studied real deer brought into the studio for drawing sessions, capturing his grace and innocence with remarkable accuracy. This moment appears shortly after Flower’s hibernation scene, around the 39:33 mark, as snowflakes drift gently through the air. Rendered in graphite with colored pencil, the drawing is labeled 132A in the lower right corner.

"Bambi” is by far one of the most beloved characters from a Disney movie. This deer designed by Disney Legend Marc Davis and animated by another Disney Legend, Frank Thomas, has been in the hearts of generations since the loss of his mother at the beginning of the film.

Released in 1942, “Bambi” remains a beloved and enduring classic that has captured generations of viewers with its poignant story, stunning animation and unforgettable characters. This timeless masterpiece was even added to the United States National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 2011 for being culturally, historically and aesthetically significant. The film’s breathtaking hand-drawn animation showcases Disney’s unparalleled ability to capture the essence of nature, from the delicate flutter of a butterfly’s wing to the grandeur of changing seasons.

This is a great opportunity to make yours a Disney character that will remain not only in hearts but also in World history, designed by Marc Davis, that anyone can recognize as a timeless treasure that will transcend generations.
