What is an original production artwork?

It refers to a unique piece created specifically for an animated production, such as a feature film or television show. These pieces are truly one-of-a-kind, as they were meticulously hand-drawn by skilled animators, and then transferred onto cels, which were then placed over a background and photographed to create a single frame of animation.

Are the artworks truly unique?

Yes they are! Just one artwork was created per frame, and it's important to note that only a very small number have survived to this day, and most were actually destroyed after production. While drawings from a same scene may occasionally surface, it's rare to see more than five on the market, if any. And even when that happens, each one is still unique and not exactly the same as the others.

Why are prices rising for some artworks on your website?

As our inventory diminishes, it is natural for the prices to increase, as it becomes increasingly difficult to obtain these pieces. While this may be disappointing for potential customers who are hoping to purchase a particular piece, it is positive for our current clients, as it means their investment is being rewarded. We encourage anyone interested in our animation art to act quickly, as our stock is limited and prices are subject to change.

How are your prices determined?

Our prices are based on various factors, including the rarity, condition, and historical significance of the artwork, as well as any additional costs we incur such as taxes, import fees, customs, handling, and shipping fees.

Can I request a certificate of authenticity?

Included with each piece is an exclusive NFC card ISO 14443-3A, a password protected NTAG215 with a 32-bit code certificate, providing our clients an unprecedented peace of mind.

How secure is your certificate?

With a 32-bit code and more than 4.000 million possibilities, considering an NFC reader needs around 200ms to communicate with the chip, it will take approximately 30 years to brute force the password with a bot working 24/7.

How can I verify the authenticity of a piece of artwork?

Our gallery sources just from the most reputable auction houses, where they are thoroughly vetted for authenticity and provenance. Then, we track, research and verify the authenticity of all the artworks again before offering for sale, and provide a state-of-the-art certificate of authenticity.

Do you ship internationally?

We offer free express door to door shipping to anywhere in Europe, where our stock is located. Please contact us for a shipping quote if you live outside Europe.

Are taxes included in the price of the artwork?

Yes, all prices displayed on our website include a 21% tax. There are no additional fees or taxes added to the final price.

Do I have to pay customs or import taxes on my order?

If you are ordering from within the European Union, there are no additional customs or import taxes to be paid as our stock is already here. However, if you are ordering from a country outside of the EU, we offer a -21% reduction off the marked price but your purchase may be subject to customs and import taxes that will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please check with your local customs office to see if any additional fees apply.

Do you offer tax exemptions for B2B or non-European purchases?

Yes, we offer a -21% reduction off the marked price for anyone buying from outside Europe and for business-to-business purchases outside Spain with a valid intracommunity VAT number. To receive this discount, simply let us know during the purchase process.

How can I track my order?

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can use this number to track your order on the courier company's website.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final unless the artwork arrives damaged or not as described. We kindly request you to inspect the package upon delivery. If the packaging appears damaged or tampered with, please refuse to accept the package and contact our customer service team immediately.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept bank transfers and 3-month easy, interest-free installments with PayPal.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been shipped. If you need to cancel an order before it ships, please contact us as soon as possible. If the delivery is unsuccessful after multiple attempts, resulting in a return of the package to us, we will issue a refund excluding the handling and shipping costs.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping within the European Union usually takes 2-5 business days, international shipping times may vary. Once the purchase is made our team will provide you with the accurate arrival date.

What is the condition of the artwork?

Detailed information about each artwork can be found on its corresponding page, located to the bottom right of the first image and next to the name and price.

Can I request additional information about a piece of artwork?

Of course! Our team will guide you with any further information you might need.

Do you offer appraisals or valuations?

Appraisals or valuations may be considered, but we require extensive proof of originality and trackability. If you are still interested, please contact us at sales@waltsoriginals.com and we will provide you with more information on the process.

Can I make requests for specific pieces or occasions?

Absolutely, we understand that our customers may have specific needs or preferences for their purchase, whether it's a particular piece or for a special occasion. How often do you add new artworks to your collection?

We are constantly on the lookout for new and rare pieces worldwide, and often have a number of pieces on hold while we verify their authenticity and provenance. Can I request to see additional photos of an artwork before purchasing?

The photos of each artwork page are taken just before sale and are already in high definition. While we usually don't send bigger images to prevent unauthorized reproductions, don't hesitate to contact us with your specific requests at sales@waltsoriginals.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What is Walt's White Guide® and how relates to page yellowing?

Walt's White Guide® or WWG® is an exclusive model we developed to categorize the whiteness of paper in animation art. It ranges from white (W1) to brown (W12), with lower numbers indicating better quality. Yellowing can occur due to environmental factors, such as exposure to light, and is to be expected to some degree. We use this guide to ensure consistency and transparency in the categorization so our clients can make an informed decision about their purchase. You can find more information about it here.

Do you offer payment plans?

We have partnered with PayPal to offer payment in 3-month easy, interest-free installments, including PayPal's leading buyer protection.

How do I take care and preserve my artwork?

The most important thing to keep in mind when displaying your artwork is to avoid direct sunlight or strong artificial light. This can cause the paper to yellow and damage the colors over time. Also, please note that our frames are made with polystyrene and not crystal, so avoid using abrasive cleaning products that could scratch the surface. We recommend gently dusting the frame and glass with a soft, dry cloth to keep it looking its best.

What is included in your packaging?

We take great care in packaging our pieces to ensure their safe delivery. Our premium packaging includes hand-made premium boxes, a Collector's Handbook, care guide, certificate of authenticity, branded materials and protective wrapping to ensure your artwork arrives in pristine condition.
